Jessica Carter | O’Lily Down Art LLC Mixed Media Collage Artist

Jessica Carter is a self-taught mixed media collage artist and the creative force behind O’Lily Down Art LLC . Her work is rooted in storytelling through texture and layers, using found papers and obsolete printed materials that she hand-paints to create her own unique palette. Each piece is meticulously hand-torn and reassembled—beautiful from a distance, but rich with hidden treasures upon closer inspection.

Jessica’s journey into the art world began after a successful career in education. A former elementary teacher turned high school art educator, she now serves as the Head of Drawing and Painting at the Marion County Center for the Arts . Teaching is her God-given gift, and she considers it her greatest calling and purpose.

Jessica was honored as a 2019 Golden Apple Teacher and recognized as a FAFO Emerging Artist in the inaugural year of that category. Her work has been featured in WUFT’s Artist Spotlight (2021) , NOMA Gallery (2020–2023), Couch Sessions Artist Season 5 (2022) , Art in Business at Angie Lewis State Farm (2024) , exhibitions at the World Equestrian Center (2024-Present) , Brick City Center for the Arts (2020–Present) .

She is also a proud board member of Ocala Philanthro-Creatives , helping local artists grow and thrive through community engagement and creative development.

For Jessica, art is more than a visual experience—it’s a soulful expression. Each collage is a reflection of her passion, faith, and deep appreciation for the beauty in ordinary, forgotten things.
