Kayla Moffatt

Kayla Moffatt is a contemporary abstract artist based in Ocala, Florida, whose work explores the intersection of memory, emotion, and place. Working primarily on a large scale, Moffatt builds compositions through layered mark-making, creating visual depth and texture that invite viewers into an immersive experience. Each painting begins as an intuitive response—shaped by personal history, landscapes, and fleeting moments—and evolves into a bold, dynamic abstraction.

Since launching her professional practice in 2019, Moffatt’s work has been featured in prominent exhibitions across Florida, including Best of the Best at The Brick Gallery and the Fine Arts for Ocala (FAFO) Arts Festival, where she was recognized as a Featured Emerging Artist. Her paintings have been acquired by private collectors and commissioned for residential and corporate spaces throughout the state. In 2023, she was awarded Best in Show at The Brick Gallery’s Best of the Best exhibition. Currently she is a resident artist with the Magnolia Art Xchange and is working on her current collection.

Moffatt’s practice reflects a commitment to pushing the boundaries of abstraction while honoring the emotive power of color and form. Her work invites contemplation, encouraging each viewer to interpret the layers of meaning embedded in every canvas.
