For me, painting is a process of inquiry—an intimate dialogue between spirit, subject, and self. Each piece begins with a question, and through the act of creation, I search for the answer. That process unfolds slowly, layer by layer, often becoming deeply spiritual. I am especially drawn to the human form—figures and portraits captivate me. There’s something magnetic about the presence of a person, something sacred in trying to translate their energy, emotion, and story onto canvas. To truly paint someone, I believe you must fall in love with them—at least for a moment—and in some way, become them to capture their essence.
Although largely self-taught, my practice is rooted in classical traditions, inspired by the old masters yet open to exploration. I love working with bold, unexpected color combinations, pushing myself to discover something new in every piece. In recent years, my curiosity has led me into handcrafting my own oil paints, which became the Fiorentino Oil Colors Old World Collection—a line inspired by ancient pigments and traditional methods. It’s my way of reviving history while breathing new life into color.
Ultimately, my goal is to connect—first with the subject, then with the viewer, and always with something larger than us both. My paintings are not just representations; they are moments of understanding, fragments of myself, and windows into the shared beauty of being human.
