The short version
Privacy
What we count
The first time you visit, your browser gets a random visitor code, kept on your phone. It isn’t your name and isn’t a cookie.
With that code we record each page you open and each link or button you tap, plus your rough area (country, state and city, worked out by our host Vercel), your type of device and browser, screen size, language, and the site that sent you here. We never store your IP address or exact location.
It shows us which horses and pages people enjoy. Only the site’s team can see it.
Saving your herd
Saving is optional. If you tap Save herd and enter your email, we keep your email, the horses you’ve found, and the visitor codes of the phones you used.
Your email becomes a sign-in shared with our partner projects, the Gallery Tour and Art Walk passports. If you already have a sign-in with them, we use it. The sign-in link is sent through our email service, Resend.
What stays on your phone
Your herd, your trail plan and your selfies stay on your phone. Selfies are never uploaded. Scanning a horse uses your camera on the phone only.
Your location is used on your phone for the map and nearby horses. When you ask for directions or plan a trail, your starting point is sent to the free OpenStreetMap routing service to work out the trail. Maps come from OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap.
Events and artists
Art Scene events and artists are copied from the public websites of Ocala Metro Art Scene, Ocala Civic Theatre, Reilly Arts Center and Magnolia Art Xchange (MAX). Links to their sites, Google Maps and others are covered by those sites’ own policies.
Remove your data
To clear this phone, clear this site’s data in your browser settings. You’ll get a new visitor code.
To delete your saved herd, email or visit history, contact Marion Cultural Alliance through mcaocala.org with the email you saved with, or your visitor code.
