About the Artist: Saul Roldan
I have attended different schools throughout the country. I began my training at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, where I spent a year and a half. It is an excellent school with a classical tradition, but also affected by modernism. Two years later, I applied for a scholarship to the newly formed New York Academy of Art, where I was accepted. At that time, the emphasis was on classical art training, a strong emphasis on drawing and the study of anatomy with cadavers. Years later, I moved to The Art Students League of New York to study with Ted Seth Jacobs and David Laffel. In 2017 I studied the Sight-size technique at the Florence Academy of Art in the New Jersey branch where I studied for 2 years. Each of these experiences has contributed my formation.
